In school, students are taught and encouraged to be lifelong learners. This way their knowledge will continually increase with their learning curve always going up. Ours is a sport where much is subjective and somewhat left to individual interpretation. Perhaps one of the attractions of our sport is that even a beginning beagler can consider him/herself an expert and publicly challenge the decisions of our judges, breeders, etc. who may have enjoyed many years of sucess. While this may be temporarily good for the ego, the result is a learning curve that is no longer going up, therefore limiting success.
