Here is an idea that might create more interest in our Federations.
We all know how expensive it is to get a good hound, breed it and try like heck to raise some puppies. When we finally get that good one, do we all try to win the Joy or Purina Awards?
By the looks of the results of recent years, it appears that we might be losing some interest in the Federations and the Dog Food Companies Awards. If there was some money at stake for you
to win with your hound, would you be more interested? Would you go to more Federations with that good one and not be a Home Boy? If you had an oppurtunity to get some of the money you invested in the litter back, would that spurn your interest?
I have talked with several individuals about this idea and all said that it would definitely create more interest in the Federations and might be the spark that is needed to get the Federations on the upswing.
How about Nominating your hound or hounds for the Derby and Futurity Championship? Points would be earned at the 7 Federations.
No trophies or dog food, just the money.
You would pay a Nomination Fee of ( example) of $25 per hound. Your nomination would have to be in my hands by January 15 of the upcoming Calendar Year. Points to be calculated on a 5 for 1st, 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th and 1 for NBQ basis. If there is a tie, the tie breaker would be
the total number of points accumulated on a Licensed Trial Basis, i. e., 1 point for every hound in the class for 1st, 1/2 of the total entries for 2nd, 1/3 for 3rd, 1/4 for 4th and 1/5 for NBQ.
Winnings to be paid back in each class as folllows: 1st-60% 2nd-25% 3rd-10% 4th-5%. Winners to be paid within 10 days of the finalization of the Northeastern Federation. Hounds and Hunting and bracebeagling.com to be the Official Record Keepers of the Results of the 7 Federations, and the results would
be published in these 2 communication outlets.

None of the monies would be retained by me, it would be my contribution to beagling. All of the hounds nominated would be listed in the Hounds and Hunting and bracebeagling.com It would be your responsibility to make sure your Nomination was received and your hound is entered before the Southern Federation starts.
