Following is an email I received Jan. 20 from Jean and Burrell Fortenberry....I'm sure all the 'Brace Beagling' folks will be interesting in reading Jean's email.
Goodness knows, if anybody can fight this illness...it's that tough 'old' Indian buddy of ours, Burrel!!!
It sounds like Burrell is doing pretty good, bossin' around those nurses and that interferon treatment...telling all of them what "he's gonna do"....that's just the attitude we all know he needs...Strength, Determination and Prayer from all his Beagle Buddies.

p.s. Jean has addressed this email to me, Doc and our dogs, Della & 'Hilde the Horrible'!

Hi Trena,Doc, Della and HTH
After one full week and 1 day of treatment, this tough ole feller that lives on the Burway farm is tolerating the Interferon reasonably well. He is having only very minor side effects. The nurses think he must be something else, because most all people get flu like symptoms and other things. He is very determined to not let the treatment make him sick. He asked the nurses not to keep telling him every day that the Interferon would make him sick. His attitude is to beat the stuff with no one being negative. That includes him. We know that he is in high risk area with the melanoma but as Yogi Berra said, the fat lady ain't sung yet and the game ain't over.
Thank you for your support,
Jean, Burrel,DOLLY and Latte'
