Kentucky houndman Wilburn Fowler passed away at 4:10 A M this morning at his home near Sunrise, Kentucky with his loved one surrounding him. Wilburn had recently been diagnosed with a fast spreading type of cancer that attacked his brain, lungs and liver. He had been undergoing radiation treatments but yesterday took a turn for the worse. He was 58 years old at the time of his death.

Wilburn leaves to cherish him memory, his wife Rooney, four children and ten grandchildren.

In recent years, Wilburn and his wife Rooney operated a puppy whelping and starting business. In the past twelve years alone Wilburn started at least 35 champions in the little starting pen directly behind his house for Ralph Gillum and his pardners. He whelped pups for various beaglers in the area and from as far away as Connecticut. His expertise, friendhship and friendly banter will be missed by all those that knew him.

Wilburn lies in repose at the Ware Funeral Home in Cynthiana, Kentucky. Visitation will be Monday, May 2 from 5 P M til 8 P M. The funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3 at 11 A M at the funeral home.
