Steve Evans was the president of Middle Ga.Beagle Club and current President of the S.E. Association of beagle Clubs. He had a massive heart attack while driving his fiancee' to Emory hospital in Atlanta on October 20th and crashed into a retaining wall. His fiancee' (Edie Pettegrew) is currently undergoing bone marrow transplants for bone cancer and was virtually uninjured. Steve finished two quality 13"females in his short beagling career, those being F.C. Shellstone Cadallac Suzy & F.C. Shellstone Dawn.

Steve A. Evans, Jr. -JEFFERSONVILLE - Graveside services for Steve A. Evans, Jr., 61, of Jeffersonville, who died Friday, October 20, 2006, will be held at 2P.M. Monday in Vaughn Cemetery in Twiggs County with Rev. Jimmy Pritchett officiating. -Mr. Evans was born in Bleckley County, the son of the late Steve A. Evans, Sr. He was the widower of Linda Vaughn. He had lived in Twiggs County for the past 37 years. -He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served in Vietnam. He was a service advisor with Huckabee Buick-Cadillac in Macon and a member of Middle Georgia Beagle Club. He was a member of New Richland Baptist Church in Twiggs County. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles F. Evans. -Survivors include two sons, Michael Vaughn Evans and Stephen Todd Evans, both of Jeffersonville; fiancee, Edie Pettegrew of Warner Robins; mother, Ruby Evans Adkins of Cochran; two sisters, Elizabeth E. Pritchett of Concord, NC and Barbara E. Coody of Cochran; mother-in-law, Julia S. Vaughn of Jeffersonville. -The family will meet friends at Fisher Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday night and may be contacted at the residence of Mrs. Julia S. Vaughn, 1539 Longstreet Road, Jeffersonville. -Fisher Funeral Home of Cochran has charge of arrangements.
