We thank Russ Arend and Lynette for the update after Five Federations have now been completed and it is a good time to look at the Purina Awards.
There is one derby award. Two dogs currently lead...R-Own Tex and Close Call Connor each have two wins. Seven other derbies have one win and places-Bub's A & P Boaz, Steelertown Kisser, Tilley's Miss Nancy 11, Steelertown Studly, Sweet Line Jackie 11, Beechgrove Mr. John and GF's Switch Blade. All of these dogs have a chance to win this award.
There is one field champion award. The current leader is
Mon Valley Jenna Rose with two wins. There are three other field champions with one win and places-San-N-Ton Peanut, Tag-A-Long Jolene and Close Call Creeping Carl. Any of these dogs could win the award.
There are four futurity awards. One award, the 15" male is settled with Firecracker Sun Cujo B having four wins. The 15" female class is headed by Dan Arts Charity with two wins, one second and one third. Three females have one win- Dix River Delightful, Rap-A-Track DeJave and Tri-Hills Teaser. One of these would have to win the last two federations to defeat Charity. The 13" Female Leader is Sunshine Camille with 1 Win, 2nd and 4th followed by Dan Arts Ebony Eyes with 1 Win and a 2nd and 3 Females with 1 Win; Gray's Dakota II, Harkey's Sara Lee and Locust Valley Dusty Rose. Any of these females could win or take the lead if they won another federation. The 13" male class is lead by Surefoot Andy 11 with a win and two seconds. Four other dogs have one win and places-Bun-E-Line Dandy Don, Chandler Hill Red Sky, Blu-Ridge Bon Temp Rouler and Close Call Code Talker. Any one of these dogs can win this award.
The most prestigious award is the over all futurity award. The leader is Firecracker Sir Cujo B with four wins. The other dog in the running is Dan Art's Charity with two wins one second and one third.
This could be decided at the International.
