by Dennis Haut

Another book has hit the market. The book is called Mels-A-Bob. It is a childrens book that is dedicated to the authors two grandchildren. They are Madison and Nicholas Moore from Sterling, Michigan. No games and/or contests will be played with this book like in Listen to the Echo. The author, Dennis James Haut, has used a surname of Blackie as the author. This was his nickname when he was a child. He was the only dark haired child of his parents five children.

Mels-A-Bob is a book about the life story of the authors best friend who ran rabbits in licensed field trials and became a Field Champion under the registered name of F.C. Dead Creek Melody. Mel lives with Blackie in their home in Sterling, Michigan. They have formed a meaningful relationship that will last forever.

Mels-A-Bob will be at 25,000 different sites around the country. It can be purchased at Amazon .com, Barnes and Noble and many different bookstores around the United States. If you order from Amazon.com, you will pay $17.99. You will have to type in Mels-A-Bob by Blackie and the book will appear. In a few weeks, you will just have to use Mels-A-Bob to get the book from Amazon. The cover (image) will also appear later.

Once the author was offered a blank check for Mel and he turned the offer down. Blackie said it would be like selling his own child and best friend. No amount of money could ever separate the two. I believe its a must read for children around the country along with the beagling public.

The cover is well worth the price of the book. Kim Diment did it. She was a former art teacher at Standish-Sterling Central High School and good friend of the author. Kim is an outstanding artist in her own right and has won local, state and national awards for her work.

Be sure to order your copy ASAP. It will make for a good investment and well worth your time and money for your children and/or grandchildren. Its about a dogs life.
