Congratulations Charles Hawkins on new Field Champion Yankeetown Crackers!
Bluegrass opened with 20 13 Females, judged by Barb and Phil Byrne and 20 15 Females, judged by Richard Bauman and Dan Bay. Richard and Danny brought back 6 Females for 2nd Series. First we ran the 13 Female 2nd Series and then the 15 Females.
Things didn't go as planned and the 3rd Brace Carver's Bay May and Yankeetown Crackers had a good run and went to the top. 3rd Series was Yankeetown Crackers and Char-Line Sasha and 4th Series was Char-Line Sasha and Surefoot Brooke and that was field trial!
Yankeetown Crackers had 5 Wins and needed 9 points for her championship. Owner and Breeder, Charlie Hawkins is 92 years young and new Field Champion Yankeetown Crackers made his 6th Field Champion. Charlie lives on Yankeetown Road in Ohio; so now you know how he came up with his kennel name. Charlie and his son, Carl, who drove him to Bluegrass, were all smiles as well as everyone in the gallery and the judges when Charlie stated Crackers was a Field Champion with her 2nd.
Yankeetown Crackers is sired by Bee Lick Legend and her dam his Shur-Good Spice. Is this Bee Lick Legend's last Field Champion?
