Southern Michigan opened with 12 13" Males, judged by Ron Gray and Ray Lubinski and 13 15" Males, judged by Dale Pliscott and Mike Rowe. We ran the 13" Males to completion and after lunch ran the 15" Males. We closed with 26 13" Females, judged by Dale Pliscott and Mike Rowe and 20 15" Females, judged by Ron Gray and Francis Teter for a total of 71 entries. We thank Ray Lubinski and Francis Teter for filling in for Chuck McElwain who had to cancel. The rabbits were great and the club and grounds were ready for their annual Southern Michigan/Border License Trial.
We thank Southern Michigan/Milly Williams for keeping the Purina Dog Chow on hand for feeding the trial.
We thank the Southern Michigan kitchen crew for feeding the beaglers morning, noon and night. Like always, the meals were great, there was great conversation and stories. There is always a good time at Southern Michigan. We thank our marshals Larry Williams and Rob Dillon for doing the classes. We thank our cart drivers, Danny Williams and Dan Crawford for getting the hounds out to the field. We thank our brush beaters and path watchers for getting the trial off smoothly. We thank each and everyone of you who came and supported our trial. We had numerous states represented, PA, NJ, WV, KY, OH, TN, NC, Canada and of course Michigan! A special tribute was paid in memory of the late Barry MacRae by Larry Williams and we were so happy to have Jo MacRae with us.
