Day one of the three day Indian hosted Indian - Lure double header started with beaglers looking for light weight jackets as temperatures were mild and running conditions provided for some high class first series performances that carried on to the completion of both classes.
Day two saw the running of Indian's 15'' bitch class and both male classes for Lure. When the dust settled George Fields had a new Field Champion Ken's Gypsy Rose who won her class and Don Phillips who won both of the male classes finishing a new Field Champion Deep River Enoch in the little males and winning the big males with Deep River Rock II. Although the classes were small the level of competition was not.
The final day saw the running of both female class for Lure's trial. Weather was hot but both classes were completed by noon. Second series saw some shifting of the hounds call back.
On a sad note, we learned that Richard "Spanky" Sproul passed away this morning. Our sport and beaglers in the Carolinas have lost a "Giant" of a friend and competitor. Spanky had been in declining heath for some time. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to Mary Ann and the family. Memorial service arrangements will be announced when completed.
